Decorations for first birthday party from AliExpress

Today I will talk about decorations I ordered from AliExpress for my son`s first birthday party which we celebrated back in March.
Always order stuff from AliExpress few months before the event, cause it can take pretty long time to arrive. And I am preparing for the second birthday party already :)
How I made number 1 you can read here: how to make number 1

Light blue pompom ball. Came in 2.5 weeks. Was packed in bag with English instructions. Tied with white ribbon. Make it carefully, the leaves are very thin and can easily be torn. But the end result is very cute :) The pompom is not small, about 30 cm. My link does not work anymore, so I leave an alternative link.

Banner. Came in 2.5 weeks. Was packaged. Without a smell, the picture is clear and bright, the paper is not thin. Only 10 flags on the banner. My link does not work anymore, so I found something similar.

Star garland. Consists of two color stars, 32 stars on a garland. The stars are stitched. With pearl outflow. Ordered to decorate the feeding chair as you can see on the photo. I just cut a three-star line with scissors and attached to the bottom of the chair. It looks nice :)

Tablecloth with Mickey Mouse. It looks different from seller`s picture. Comes folded in a package. The print is quite bright but the tablecloth itself is very thin, can be easily torn. There was smell when I opened it but it disappeared. Tablecloth is disposable, only for one time use.

Cake topper with Mickey Mouse. The topper comes disassembled, it is very easy to assemble. There are 4 transparent stickers for attaching. Made from thick paper. But one con: black stripes on the white part. Not a big deal but a bit unpleasant. It looks nice on the cake :)

Number 1 balloon. Comes folded without packaging. The balloon is small, only 35 cm in length (inflated already). The colors are bright but if you inflate it with helium, as I did, then consider that it will not fly, since the amount of helium is small and the material is rather dense and it simply can not fly. I found a way out of the situation by hanging another balloon on it. Or just inflate it by yourself through drinking straw.

How to use juice bottles + AliExpress review

Many of you have already seen these awesome candy bars, which are so popular in America as well as around the world. Very convenient buffet type table, when everyone comes and chooses snacks according to their taste. Usually offered salty and sweet snacks, cake, drinks. I love candy bars for children's birthdays and I already have plans to organize a table for my boy on his birthday (of course without dairy products and products containing eggs!) as well as my birthday.
Many that type of tables contain bottles with juice / lemonade / cocktails, the priorities of which are: individuality, convenience and aesthetic appearance.

I already wrote earlier about how I use jars from the baby food: dessert in jar, which is perfect for children's and adult party tables. Today I will show you a photo (maybe someone will get inspired and get ideas for realization) how I use bottles from baby juice and write about these beautiful straws ordered from AliExpress.

The parcel number was not tracked but straws arrived within 2 weeks. Exactly 25 pieces in the package, no smell. Straws are made from thick paper but the paper softens in the liquid. Drinking is convenient, the flow is good.

Refreshing watermelon popsicles

When you think about summer the thought of fresh fruit flies through your head, especially the watermelon, does not it? Do you like watermelon? And your children? Honestly I'm not a fan of watermelon, it's enough for me to eat it a few times a year, but my son and husband like it! But, of course, after my son has eaten a watermelon, you have to wash him, a chair and a floor :D

Watermelon can be eaten fresh, used in smoothie or been frozen. I tried all the options and my child liked everything :D When I went to the big Maxima grocery shop I saw these ice cream molds, which I wanted to buy for a long time, and at an excellent price (1.50 euros only). There were several colors to choose from, I bought with dinosaurs. What is convenient in this form is that if the ice cream melts, it drains in a bowl with a stick and not on the floor.

When we went to Japan 3 years ago, my husband's sister showed me how to eat a watermelon with salt. Salt makes the watermelon even sweeter. Try it!

Now you can buy a watermelon at a good price of 0.35-0.70 cents in different stores (Konsum, Maxima, Rimi, Prisma). Preparation of watermelon popsicles is very easy, you will need only seedless and sliced watermelon. The best dessert when it's hot outside!

Preparation:

1) Clear the watermelon from the skin and seeds.
2) Cut into cubes and press into an popsicle mold.
3) Freeze and enjoy :)

100 days

Well, long time no see! I finally mustered up the courage and started up with my blog. Again.
First post will be about celebration of our baby`s 100 days. It`s a Japanese weaning ceremony of first food (Japanese name is okuizome).
Usually mother-in-low is preparing different selection of washoku (Japanese traditional cuisine) but in our case all this delicious and aesthetically pleasing food was prepared by my husband who is professional Japanese cuisine chef with over 22 years of experience.
This ceremony involves oldest relatives which means that child will live long life. You can find not only food on plates but also some stone which means that baby will get strong teeth.
Every relative, starting with the oldest one, is pretending to feed baby with food (but not really doing it!) and passing to the next person.
Not all of our relatives can use hashi (chopsticks), so there was a personal silver spoon on table for those.
This ceremony is meant to wish baby long life, always to have food on table and get strong teeth.
After finish the ceremony we could try all of this food by ourselves and continue with BBQ in our backyard :)
And, of course, dessert! A party without tasty dessert? No way! Matcha tea roll with cream inside (and special additive in it!), mmm.. Yummy!

If you are interested in these dishes, then do not hesitate to ask for names!

Best wishes,
V.O.
